Yaama My name is Caz Kadic, a proud Barkindji man born in Brewarrina, been living on Wiradjuri Country Orange NSW for the past 43 years, my people are from around the Darling River in Far West New South Wales - towns such as Wilcannia Menindee, Bourke and Brewarrina area. I have worked in mental health Suicide Prevention role for 18 months. I currently work at the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service as the Care and Recovery Practitioner in the Culture Care Connect Program/Bilingarra Bagurany Barraminya Program and overseeing the build of Aboriginal Resilient Community Team. I consider myself as a strong advocate for the people I work with in the mental health space. I’m passionate about helping Close the Gap within my culture through improving the lives of those around me and creating a sustainable positive change. I want to break down the negative connotation of mental health and suicide and improve the impact it has on rural and remote communities by sharing my knowledge and skills.
