Women’s Health & Equality Queensland are leaders in women’s health, gender equity and the primary prevention of violence in Queensland. For over 40 years we have worked towards a world where women are equitably resourced, healthy, safe and thriving.
Women’s Health & Equality Queensland provides free services for women in need, including counselling, midwifery support and recovery after violence. Our aim is to foster a proactive approach to wellness and preventative care, and help women make informed choices about their bodies and wellbeing.
Our 18004 WOMEN phone service provides free phone counselling for women in regional and remote Queensland. It’s confidential, non-judgemental, and you don’t need a referral to access support. Participants will talk to the same qualified counsellor or midwife, and they can choose appointment times that work for them. There’s no need to travel, and the service is completely free.
We also work to create healthier communities through community programs, health promotion, professional education and policy advice. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers and challenging societal norms that hinder women's progress and strive to create a world where every woman can flourish with equal opportunities and access to essential resources.
