Rebecca McLean is an experienced journalist, media manager and communications specialist. Originally from the Bay of Plenty (Whakatāne) in New Zealand, she has almost two decades of experience working in the hospital and healthcare industry, as well as not-for-profit, corporate sector and journalism in New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and the UK. Rebecca is a former health reporter who has held senior communications positions at two major hospitals in New Zealand and Australia. While working in communications in the UK, she was seconded to Oman in the Middle East to manage communications for a major British Government education program. She has also volunteered in hospitals in Africa and Southeast Asia. For the past four years, she has led the clinical trial communications program for the TrialHub program, a unique program that is supporting regional and rural hospitals with establishing their own clinical trial units.
