Professor Michael Doyle, a proud Bardi man, has dedicated more than 20 years to advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Beginning his career as an Aboriginal health worker in his home community of Djarindjin, near Broome in Western Australia, he later moved into health research and leadership. Michael now leads the First Nations health research team at the Edith Collins Centre, University of Sydney. His research focuses on improving drug and alcohol treatment services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly those who may be involved in the criminal justice system. He also served as Co-Chair of the AH&MRC Human Research Ethics Committee from 2021 to 2026 (June).
